For many 2020 was a year like no other. A global pandemic hit, wildfires swept through large portions of countries while hurricanes and storms flooded others, people died, lives were put on hold, jobs were lost, economies were in crisis, schools closed, major elections took place, and more. What did 2020 look like for you? How did it feel? How did you respond? How has this year shaped you, your life, and your practice? At IncuArts we ask, “What happened?” 

HINDSIGHT, 2020 WAS A   is a look back on the year 2020, at what happened and what it meant to us.

Artists of all media are encouraged to apply.

Women, people of color, LGBTQ+, and other community members are encouraged to apply.

Each artwork will be considered based upon the merit of individual images submitted by each artist. Strict theme based entries are not necessary- the theme is a jumping off point. Alone/ Together is meant to start a visual discussion. A brief artist statement is optional.

Selected artists will have their work featured in the online exhibition and via social media platforms.

SUBMISSION FORMAT

*Artists are permitted to submit more than one entry*

• Select the number of Entries (1 entry= 5 images, 2 entries= 10 images)  and click "add to cart". Check out using the PayPal form. 
• Email your entry to info@incuarts.com
• Include your name and “HINDSIGHT, 2020 WAS A  Entry” in the subject line of the email: “Jane_Smith_HINDSIGHT, 2020 WAS A Entry”  
• If you submit more than 1 entry, email each entry separately and label accordingly:                                                                                          “Jane_Smith_HINDSIGHT, 2020 WAS A_Entry_1” and “Jane_Smith_
  HINDSIGHT, 2020 WAS A_Entry_2”

IMAGE GUIDELINES FOR STILL IMAGES

• All images should be a separate jpeg  file format: 72 dpi, no larger than 1500 pixels on the largest side. No smaller than 750 pixels on the largest side. No more than 2MB per image file.
• Name each file with your name and the corresponding number from the entry information below, for example: smith_jane_1.jpg., smith_jane_2.jpg, smith_jane_3.jpg
• List the information requested below in the body of your email and as a PDF document.
• Attach your images and info, and email to info@incuarts.com.
• Provide the following information for in your email:

• NAME
• CITY, STATE, COUNTRY
• EMAIL
• PHONE (OPTIONAL)
• WEBSITE, EMAIL, OR SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE *We will use one of these options to link to your work and name so that buyers can contact you directly for art sales.*

NOTIFICATION OF SELECTED ARTISTS

Selected artists will be posted online at www.incuarts.com. A group email will be sent with a list of names of selected artists. Artists submitted must check this information for the list of names. Instructions for the exhibition will be sent to selected artists via email. Artists must read and completely understand the format for this exhibition.

EXHIBITION FORMAT

All works will be exhibited in the digital gallery for the length of the show. Past shows are available to view for a limited time in the Archives/ Previous Exhibitions section of the website. 

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPATING ARTISTS IN THE EXHIBITION

Selected artists must submit a high resolution JPEG file or video link. Artistic copyright remains with the artist at all times.

ASSOCIATED FEES AND INFORMATION

Not all artists who enter the call for entries will be selected for the exhibition, and artists who are selected may not have all individual images chosen to be included in the exhibition. Artists must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

The gallery does not sell work; instead, parties interested in purchasing work will be directed to contact artists. We want you to keep all of your sales money. For this reason, please provide a website, email, or social media page to link to your work.

IncuArts reserves the right to reproduce images for promotional and publication purposes, if necessary. Any files that differ significantly from the entry, or are sub-standard quality will be disqualified from the exhibit. Email addresses will be added to our email list. Entry fees are non-refundable, no exceptions. By submitting work to the call for entries you agree to all terms and conditions set forth in this entry page.
